Founded in December 2024, Mandler is an emerging Chinese lens manufacturer based in Nanyang, Henan Province, one of China’s four major optical cold-processing centers. We are dedicated to creating affordable yet high-quality lenses for users of M-mount cameras, making it easier for more photography enthusiasts to enter the M-mount ecosystem and enjoy the pure essence of photography. We believe that classics deserve to be awakened.
Using China’s contemporary precision craftsmanship, we recreate classic optical designs that have entered the public domain. We preserve the way these lenses see the world, then breathe new life into them through modern technology. Classic light should not belong only to the past.
Our Technology and Manufacturing
Mandler lenses are not products borrowed from someone else’s production line. They take shape step by step in our own factory, beginning with a single ray of light.
From the initial optical design and mechanical engineering to prototyping; from glass selection, lens grinding, polishing, and coating to CNC barrel machining, assembly, calibration, and inspection, every stage is completed in our own facilities. We are neither a white-label manufacturer nor an assembler. From drawings to finished products, we remain in control of the entire process.
We believe precision can be entrusted to machines, but character must be entrusted to human hands. Every Mandler lens is handcrafted. Our artisans grind and polish critical optical elements by hand, assemble each lens group by hand, and manually tune the focusing resistance and aperture clicks. They inspect every marking, every thread, and every piece of glass by hand. Modern equipment gives us precision; human hands give us character. Before leaving the factory, every lens must pass a final confirmation by both hand and eye before it is approved for sale.
With modern Chinese craftsmanship, we bring classic optical designs back to life. We are not placing vintage lenses in a museum. We are allowing them to awaken once again in the hands of artisans, under the light of today.
