I have been enjoying my time with the new 35mm lens from @mandlerlens I have used it in just about every lighting situation I can find myself in on a daily basis with my own personal work and it has performed really well. I’m not someone who looks for clinically sharp lenses or overall corrected I want my lens to be sharp enough to read the scene while also giving me the character I need to make my images feel like you are looking into a different reality, a curated delusion. This lens definitely hits the mark with what I look for in my lenses and for the price I would call this a no brainer.
Shot at F2 with the limited amount of light available I was amazed at how well it handled even using such a low aperture I was expecting the image to be fuzzy as most lower priced lenses tend to have this softness in the middle as well as the edges but with this lens the center seems to be the sharpest point which works well with my style of photography when I like to pull a viewer in the subject I am focusing on.
Shot at F4
I wanted to see how much the lens cleaned up and surprisingly even at F4 it still gave me enough detail to read the scene in lower light scenarios
This was an interesting scene because the background was actually extremely bright so I was wondering how the lens would handle that backlight some lensss tend to get a glow when something is to hot in the background while this still had a little of that look it wasn’t overwhelming
F8
This is the aperture I primarily use majority of the town outdoors and I aaa pleased to see that the lens cleans up pretty nicely while still giving you some character
F5.6
Still retaining great detail and the out of focus elements in the background corners honestly helps bring focus forward the viewer
I missed focus here but I still enjoyed the way the lens rendered it has a look for sure especially the way it start to bow, it’s something I personally enjoy but I know it isn’t for everyone.
F11
This is normal the kind of scene I would be photographing I noticed that once I hit F8-16 the lens tens to render closer to a modern lens with vintage lens characteristics like the chromatic aberration in the highlights while
